Similar problem Reloading is the term I should use per your description below But the screen that comes up says it is restarting

A blast (to 19000+) starts sending and gets about a third of the way through and then gets slower and slower I watch it on the 'monitor your mailing' screen Then the number sent doesn't change between the 10 sec refresh time, or just a few Then that screen shows a message that says something like mailing will restart in 60 seconds After 60 seconds sometimes it just starts sending again or it opens the blank window that only says that is restarting the mailing Sometimes it starts again and goes back to normal speed for a short time and then goes back to the same cycle Finally, it quits sending altogether and I get a 500 server error It appears to be a server error within Dada as the sub and unsub links elsewhere on the site also give a 500 server error I have to restart my vps to clear it and then restart the mailing

This has happened all four times I've tried to send a blast and only since upgrading to 3 0 I've sent a couple of hundred blasts with some variation of 2 x and never had this problem For the 3 0 upgrade, it is the first time I've also gone to a mysql backend and external config files

On Westhost with a semi-dedicated plan

I've tried smtp or sendmail settings On my hosting, SMTP doesn't require any validation before sending Tried to send in batches of 180 with 1 sec pause in between and also tried with no batches Note that if I increased the pause in between batches with 19000 to send it would significantly increase my sending time

Out of desperation, I have reverted to version 2 10 16 with no external config files and the flat file user database, but haven't tried it again yet (fwiw, under v2, I used sendmail and sent batches of 4000 and then paused for a second I don't have that option on v3--on v2 it took me just over an hour to send the 19000)

What do you mean by, "restaring" - do you mean, restarting from the absolute very beginning, or, restarting from where it seems to have stopped? If it's the latter, user the word, "reload" :)

If it is the former, perhaps you want to know why the mailout is actually stopping: usually it's just because you've hit some sort of limit on how long a process can run on your hosting account

Are you having the problem where the mailing just seems to try to restart, forever and never actually restarts?

The Config pm file has $MAILOUT_AT_ONCE_LIMIT ||= 1; so it isn't undef Does this indicate anything to you?

Can you let me know what your hosting company is? Or, if you have a custom hosting setup, what the Operating System and Webserver are?

Why is it continually restarting? Have the 46 messages that were
sent actually sent, or have there been 46 failures that just skipped to the next?

I don't know The last time I investigated something like this, I
found out that the problem was with the person's sending options -
basically, Dada Mail couldn't send anything and errored every time it tried - and that's why it kept restarting I opened up this bug:

To, hopefully, look at it further

Is this the same problem you're having? I don't know You may want to set up your error logs and see if anything interesting bubbles up to the surface on your next mailing I would even venture to suggest making a test list up and subscribing just a few of your own addresses on and see what happens,
