Am I correct in that this is the correct code to run Mystery Girl as a cron job? I'm on a Mac and set it with the terminal, but it didn't run last night (btw--MG runs okay manually)
1,16,31,46 1,2,3 * * * /home/mydomainname/www/cgi-bin/dada/plugins/dada_bounce_handler pl
/dev/null 2>&1
It would be correct, providing that,
/home/mydomainname/www/cgi-bin/dada/plugins/dada_bounce_handler pl
Is the actual path to the script and you've changed the lib paths within the script itself You can figure out pretty fast if that's all correct by taking this part off:
/dev/null 2>&1
You should receive messages via email if something's not working
If you do have ssh access to your server, you can also run the command:
perl /home/mydomainname/www/cgi-bin/dada/plugins/dada_bounce_handler pl --verbose
and if something interesting gets printed out, then you're OK
Nothing I get a "no such file or directory " I've very carefully traced the path and file name and it is correct Duh
I've tried some variations still with no result
I don't think I have a Cpanel based hosting account Or at least it doesn't look like it (Westhost) I did find a file named curl on the server, but I opened it and it's gibberish
It's gibberish, because it's binary - it's a program and not just a plain text file In fact, I have no idea how you actually opened it :)
BBEdit will open anything if you tell it to
So if do have a file named curl in my usr/bin folder, even though I don't think I have a Cpanel account (what is that?), should I be entering the script through ssh in the terminal as a cronjob that is shown on the MG page? I mean enter this one in Terminal, except with the schedule in front of it?
/usr/bin/curl -s --get --data run=1\;passcode=XXXXXX\;verbose=0 --url http://www XXXXXXXXX com/cgi-bin/dada/plugins/dada_bounce_handler pl
