So the problem is that when you a person sends out an archived message
to a friend, the Content-Type is mucked up? (I'm sorry, I'm just
confused at all this)
No, the problem is, that a new subscriber gets his first newsletter (= the last archived message) as a scrambled HTML-something!
IMHO, if you are emitting an archived message with email header lines like this
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Date: Wed, 13 Aug 2008 07:11:47 UT From: "[OURCOMPANY-Newsletter]" newsletter@PROTECTED Reply-To: "[OURCOMPANY-Newsletter]" newsletter@PROTECTED X-Priority: 4 Message-ID: 20080813091147.22884804@PROTECTED Precedence: bulk X-Mailer: Dada Mail 2 10 16 Content-type: multipart/alternative; boundary="---------- =1218611507207840" Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary MIME-Version: 1 0 Subject: [OURCOMPANY-Newsletter] August
This is a multi-part message in MIME format
------------=1218611507207840 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
you have to perform the following tasks:
a) replace "Date:"-header to reflect actual time b) insert "To:"-header with email address of recipient c) replace "X-Mailer:"-header (we have Dada 3 0, now)
But in no circumstances we should fiddle with the rest of the email header lines!
Dada Mail 2 10 16 does it /almost/ right Its only fault: the date header is not adapted
But Dada Mail 3 0 0 has a serious flaw, because this header line
Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1
is wrong and is reponsible for broken HTML-emails!
Cheers, Peter
