Re: Dada_bridge eating resources ?

My host would have let me run the bridge once every four hours - apparently, the issue is that running it too frequently creates an increasing load.  This is why I asked Justin a few months ago about (but never ended up following up on) commissioning a way to use dada_bridge the same way as the old dada_send with a mail alias.  I now have my own way to do this so I do not need it anymore but if you want to pay Justin to develop this feature for you, it will help you a lot.

Justin,

$MessagesAtOnce was set to 1 and the CRON run every 5 minutes.....
It seems to hang or loop every now and then I'm afraid.

I reported before I already was bounced once by my host because dadamail
opened too many SQL connections at the same time.

Never could lay a finger on it because it disappeared as suddenly as it
started...

Well, what do you guys suspect is the problem?

The only thing I'd wonder about, is if you're trying to send more
than one message at a time with the script, or, you're running the
program too many times - for example: every minute. That's easy to
control - set the "$MessagesAtOnce" to, "1" and just run the cronjob
a little less frequently.

The problem I hope is not happening is that the dada_bridge.pl
script, for whatever reason, continues to keep running, even after it
does whatever it does - unless it's actually sending out a mailing
list message, this should not happen,
