If I understand this correctly, I left an item on the Sourceforge wish list that would do this if implemented
It goes something like: an item that is on the bounce list is removed from the list if subsequent email blasts are successfully delivered (not bounced)
Reasoning:
All addresses, yea even mine and yours, bounce once in while It could be the position of the planets or maybe there's an internet equivalent of biorhythm where it just gets testy once in while
Under the current bounce handling system these addresses that are valid, but bounce once, are scored and put on the bounce list Therefore, over an infinite number of mailings the entire subscriber list will be purged Or maybe less than infinite in a whole lot of cases where the recipient's host has a lot of down time

Hmmm I am wondering if the bounce handler is smart enough to look at the score and decide at some point to put addresses that bounce regularly into an 'off_list', keeping the addresses in the list but making them inactive That would be a great thing
It wouldn't be terribly difficult, no I'm a little apprehensive on making lots of different list types and intrinsic value of having a list, that just has addresses, where the majority of the addresses are valid in form, but aren't actually email addresses doesn't seem so high
What do other people think? Should addresses that are bouncing (or, say, have gone over the bounce threshold) be saved in a separate place?
Hmm, this is also what the bounce score card does, except right now, it removes the address from the scorecard, once the address has been unsubscribed I can just leave the address on and zero out the score when the address has been unsubscribed This will at least allow you to view/search the address and understand that it's bounced and also allow you to easily search through the bounce logs and see why it has bounced
