Improvements: "Add Email" screen getting a refresh

Hello All,

Just to let everyone know, I'll be gone the rest of the week. There may be another blizzard in Denver on Thursday, so I may actually miss my flight because of cancellation be... not here for a little longer. So if anyone's looking for me, let 'em know I'm in New Mexico :)

Anyways, I've been working on a little the, "Add Email" admin screen. There's a bit of a problem, if you try to add too many addresses at once, the thing will just sort of konk out - no good. This process will worsen, once all the multiple fields stuff is in place, since the amount of information being submitted will grow by leaps and bounds. The reasoning behind this is two fold:

* Submitting so much information at one time, especially using the file upload feature, may timeout... something.
* Going through all those emails takes time to validate. The more emails in your list already, the longer this takes.

So the solution is to basically split up the various parts and then limit every part to a specific time, saving the state of that and then refresh the process at that saved state. Right.

So basically it looks like this:

Upload the information ->
Sort uploaded list, between valid and invalid (form) emails ->
Sort uploaded list, between already subscribed, and not ->
etc ->
etc ->
etc ->
Report findings.

So, I've started at the beginning with getting the information - and also with the funnest little subproject - a little file upload status bar thingy - observe!:

I made a little Ajax-y status bar indicator, that'll refresh every second or so, showing how much of the selected file has reached the server. This should help out in giving you some idea if your file upload is working at all (really) and hopefully, you'll wait for the screen to refresh for the next part of this process. Hopefully, I'll be able to encapsulate this feature a bit more and have it easily available for any file upload business - for example, when selecting attachments.

If your curious how I made the status bar thingy, I made a simple script to illustrate the idea, which is available here:

See you after the new year,
