Thanks for everyone that chimed in on helping with the Demo site for Dada Mail - I got a great response and I think we're going to work something really well out It helps a lot so thanks a lot ;)
Here's another request for people on shared hosting accounts - I'd like to try documenting the sending limitations for popular shared hosting services
For example, according to Dreamhost:
http://wiki dreamhost com/index php/Smtp-quota
There's an SMTP quota - meaning an outbound mail quota of 100 messages an hour Well, kinda O/T, but I only have to say, in dreamhost behalf, that they offer a service "similar" (at least in spirit) to dada called "Announce lists" (see http://wiki dreamhost com/index php/KB_/AccountControl_Panel_/Mail::AnnounceLists and http://wiki dreamhost com/index php/KB_/WebProgramming_/CGI%2CPHP_%26_Databases_/AnnouncementMailing_List)
I think it's implemented with Mailman but I ain't sure ('cause I didn't use it) the messages sent thru it don't go towards you quota and I think that the catch is that they force you to use their confirmed opt-in system for every address that is, you aren't able to massively subscribe your users I guess it's their way to avoid (rather that repress) spamming activity
I'm not sure if I sare their point of view, but I sure understand them when you have a lot of users, and a potential abuser is able to get your mail servers blocked for all your users, it is really hard to explain to the rest of your users that it's not your fault
