It seems posting to this list is becoming a karma I'm starting to post more about my own postings than about the product itself :-D
When I was writing http://mojo skazat com/cgi-bin/dada/mail cgi/archive/dadadev/20060902095001/ I navigated the archive at http://mojo skazat com/cgi-bin/dada/mail cgi/archive/dadadev/ in order to find the original posting in Spanish for referencing it
The first problem with the archive interface is that the link to the messages is the subject of the message and the subject of the message at http://mojo skazat com/cgi-bin/dada/mail cgi/archive/dadadev/20060830102506/ is EMPTY
I eventually found the URL noticing that the last item in it is simply the "Date:" field of the message encoded as YYYYMMDDhhmmss, and, since the date field is shown in the archive index, I found it Maybe the message number should ALSO be part of the link?
But this pointed me to a second possible problem that is, what would happen if you get more than one message sent to the list within the same second this obviously is not very likely in the kind of low traffic lists that are usually handled by dada () Nonetheless, it *is possible for two messages to appear within the same second and current hardware is more than able to deliver them within that same second
How would both messages be archived? Shouldn't the key inlcude the message number also? (we must also think what happens when a message is erased from the list since, as of now, the messages in the archive get renumbered when this happens, but it'd be a bad idea for a link to a specific message to change just because other message was erased from the archive)
