This is actually documented wrong in the current beta (fixed in CVS)

This bug took a little while to figure out, and the documentation for
the Session stuff wasn't super clear - so much, they opened a bug
about it ;)

and yes, set the $SESSION_DB_TYPE to, "MySQL" to use the MySQL backend;
