Re: Bugtraq open to all

For me, the easiest way to try out a new version (or upgrade for that matter), would be to require less options to be set. Not everything can go into the external config file, and several changes (to paths, for example) need to be changed each time a new version is installed. Typically this means waiting until a stable version is out before doing any upgrade. Any customizations need to be hand-edited in the new version as well. So, I don't tend to upgrade until there are features I'm looking for, or a bug that affects me, or I'm just several versions old, and want to be more current.

Hello everyone,

Just a friendly reminder, that if you find something that's broken in
Dada Mail, please report it! Here's the link to the bugtraq for Dada
Mail:

I'd appreciate it, if you would log in, using a Sourceforge account
whilst submitting a bug, but if this is too much hassle, you can post
anonymously, although it helps if you're logged in, because you can
see when a bug is fixed, and if I have any follow questions, I can
ask, and you have the option to answer :)

Currently, there are *14* bugs (not all are still open) in the latest
release. Most of them are very minor, but regardless, if they don't
get reported, they don't get fixed. Most of these bugs were opened by
me, from general reports of problems from the message boards (http://
mojo.skazat.com/support/boards ).

A strange thing happens - bugs only get reported on stable versions
of the program, development versions are never tested by users as
much as I'd like. This leads to a problem, where peer reviews of Dada
Mail never happen (enough), and we're left with just my word alone
that a version of Dada Mail is good to go. I don't like that. If
there's any way I can make it easier for you guys to try out a dev.
version of Dada Mail, please let me know.

Also, if there's anything I can do to make reporting these bugs
easier, I'm all ears.

Thanks guys/girls,
