I like what you suggest, especially since Dada can be set to NOT
send the posting back to the sender In that case, if the list and
sender are copied on the message, then they theoretically won't get
two copies It would be nice to have options to configure as the
user wishes; different groups of people have different preferences,
regardless of "netiquette"

Yup - agreed I could see why you'd explicitly not want replies to
go back to the group

So - just to let people know, I've switched the behavior of this
list, as such:

* The, "To:" header has been set to the list address

* Replying to a message will reply to the list
* Hitting, "Reply All" Will reply to the list

The last two points are the same behavior as before, so it isn't a
large change

The other way you can set Dada Mail is to have replies go to the
original sender, and having, "Reply All" go to the original sender,
and the list

That's really the only two ways you can have a discussion list

The other option you can now specify is whether you want the To:
address set to the list address or to the original sender, which is
neat, I guess :)

I don't know who came up with the "rules" for the internet, but top- posting is one of those things that I am 100% FOR

I haven't uncovered an RFC on discussion lists in general, but
there's always the pull of tradition and what's worked for the years
and years of mailing lists Not afraid to personally rock the
boat :), but would like to have it at least an option to be able to
set Dada Mail to traditional methods

As for top posting, it doesn't matter much for me on this list, since
our conversations haven't gotten out of hand and one of the reasons
for this list is to experiment on how to use mailing lists in
general, but what I've tried to start doing is copying and pasting
the relevant bits of conversation I'd like to reply to - and also
label them with who said it - sort of like top and bottom posting
hybrid I do understand the arguments to both It would be great if I
could figure out message threading for at least the online archives,
but my time is currently elsewhere in the program
