Considering Changes to the Magicbook - opinions?

From: "Dada Mail" <dada@PROTECTED>

I'm considering taking out the current plugins/extensions that are in
the Magicbook and putting them into the regular distro - why?

 * Because the plugins are used by only people who have purchased

Pro Dada/Magicbook, they get used less, and developed (by me) less * More, separate scripts = more small projects for people (other
than me!) to work on More developer interest * More features at a good price (free) may mean more interest to
the program More utility - more users Dada Mail more appealing when
compared to "competitors" * More eyes out for bug fixes (many eyes, all bugs shallow, idea)

Why this wouldn't be a good move:

 * current Magicbook subscribers asking, "What the heck?"
 * Destroys big reason to get Magicbook (if only change is

removal of plugins/extensions)

So, the idea isn't to make the Magicbook less of a resource, it's to
make it a better resource for documentation - the Book part of the
magicBOOK

Enhancements I would make:

 * Revise the Magicbook from the ground up - including:
 * large amounts of information on how to use the plugins/

extensions effectively - what will be available on the support site will only be
instructions on how to install them, and that's it + An example of this would be the walkthroughs for
Beatitude that is currently in the Magicbook * A better login system, with a password retriever * Put up a version of the Magicbook online for Magicbook
subscribers * Online documentation for all the Dada Mail admin screens for
Magicbook Subscribers At the moment, all the help links will 404 on you - why?
Because it's a whole lot of work to create documentation and my Quota for free work is pretty much spent on Dada Mail :)

On the last point, we were talking about putting up a Wiki for the
same reason, but I haven't gotten a huge amount of, "man, I would
love to write docs for Dada Mail!" feedback, so I'm fearing that idea
would go to waste If I have an incentive to write these docs - if I
basically get paid indirectly from Magicbook sales, I have an
incentive to write them and write them well A Wiki still wouldn't be
out of the question, the information in the Wiki would be different
than what's in the Magicbook, and this has some strengths (more up to
date!, etc) and weaknesses (slightly less orderly, maybe bad
information - basically less structured; the difference between,
"notes" and a, "book")

That's about it

I ask the community because these changes will affect anyone who's
either Paid for Pro Dada and the Magicbook and I would like some good
feedback before I pull the rug from under everyone

So, whatayathink? I have some more ideas I'd like to punt off you
guys as well
