Re: Tentative Roadmap for Dada Mail (changes)

Just out of curiosity, could you expand on the Muli-field concept? I'm pretty new to the list so I could use a quick summary when you have time

Saving more than just an email address, like name, street address,
zip code, etc - whatever you'd like, per list You could then use
this information in your email message, for example:

Dear [salutation] [last_name],

I hear you like, [type_of_animail] we've got a touring circus
featuring [type_of_animal] coming to [city], [state]

You get the idea You could then send to a part of your list - say,
only send the above message to everyone living in, Denver, or with a
zip code beginning in, "802" (Denver County's zip's)

You could also use Dada Mail as a physical mailing list - which is
something valuable to myself, since I send out limited edition
postcards of my art shows If my mailing list gets gigantic, I may
only want to send out physical postcards to people living near the
city I'm showing at - saving me money and sort of targeting the
people who'll actually go

Saving more than the email address allows us to save more interesting
things, like passwords You could then allow each subscriber to log
into their own information and update it when they feel the need, opt
in/out of certain features of the mailing list, like digests - you
could have a pref for HTML/plaintext email messages the password
could be used to access restricted archives, which, since you're
logged in, could almost be seen as a cross between a bulletin board
and a mailing list: you could post/reply to the archived messages - I
mean the sky's the limit Think Yahoo! Groups for your own website

Anyways, a whole lot of things - I was hoping this client would help
start the ball rolling with a few key features, but we'll have to
wait I guess :)
