Progress Report: CGI::Application/FastCGI support
Hi everyone - just a progress report: I've gotten Dada Mail running under FastCGI pretty successfully! Whoo! Once this is complete, it's hoping we'll all see 5x-10x performance improvements, especially on busy sites, so that would be fantastic
I'm currently working on the Dada Mail plugins It's been an interesting project to get going correctly, but I think I've turned the corner on that as well Plugins will act actually like plugins; running under the main, "mail cgi" app, instead of being their own tiny apps This should also help with performance in the long-run, as everything (memory, database access) will be shared in the same, singular process Good things
Hoping to get an alpha/beta in front of people ASAP After the plugins, I will need to work on the installer, to have the option of running Dada Mail as a CGI script or a FastCGI script being a reality
If this project is interesting, please let me know, as I'll need to know the various use cases for running Dada Mail as a persistent app Lots of unknowns for me, so lots of gotchas awaiting to trap me!
