Dada Mail, as always, is a free download

Since I've last emailed this list, there's been over two months of work on the program, and it's really starting to shape up and look incredible

If you haven't already tried out a development release, this is the one to try out, especially if you are having trouble getting a mailing out to your entire list

We really need your feedback on this version, so install, let us know how it's working and any other feedback that you can

:: 2 11 Alpha 3 Feature Overview

Here's more information on the alpha version:

http://mojo skazat com/features/2_11_dev

To refresh your memory, here are some of the new features in version 2 11:

* Auto-Pickup of Mail Sendings
* Domain-Specific Sending Tunings
* Better Spam Protection for Discussion Lists
* Social Bookmarking + Link Sharking badges in Message Archives
* CAPTCHA Enhanced email subscription confirmation

There's been literally hundreds of little things we've tweaked, as well as a few completely new features, since this first dev release One new feature is a working moderation system for discussion lists This is a incredibly useful feature that I know many of you have been waiting for

Another feature is something you may never use, but is almost essential for a complex project such as Dada Mail is an automated testing suite The development cycle of Dada Mail now contains many automated tests - everytime we create a distribution of Dada Mail, we run these tests - that now number over 400 to make sure our new work, works 2 11 will contain, I'm guessing, over 1,000 of such tests Good piece of mind Pretty cool

:: 2 11 Release Schedule

I know a lot of people have been wondering when the 2 11 series will be going stable It all really depends - my current plan is to release a version of Dada Mail with many of the new features mentioned as version 2 10 11 and release 2 11 shortly afterwards There's not set ETA, but, a few things that do speed up the ETA are:

  • Comissioned work

If you can commission a feature, the feature becomes top priority Email us if you're interested

  • Feedback on the development releases

We release development versions in hopes to get feedback on what's working and what's not If we don't receive any feedback, we have no idea if what we're doing is good or not, so download the dev version, give it a spin, tell us how we're doing - critiques are essential and welcome!

:: New Dada Mail Documentation Available

Along with the new alpha release, we've been added a whole lot of documentation to Dada Mail Some docs of note:

:: Mailing List Sending FAQ

http://mojo skazat com/support/documentation/FAQ-mailing_list_sending pod html

This FAQ goes over the new auto-pickup of dropped mailings and how to use the new feature effectively

:: Developer Perl API Cookbook

We've been working on developer docs quite a bit, here are two, "Cookbook" style docs -

: Subscription Cookbook

http://mojo skazat com/support/documentation/COOKBOOK-subscriptions pod html

: List Settings Cookbook

http://mojo skazat com/support/documentation/COOKBOOK-list_settings pod html

If you're wanting to create your own scripts using Dada Mail's powerful libraries, these are must-read

We've also heavily documented the API to the new auto pickup of dropped mailings feature:

:: Dada Mail Demo back online

Finally, we've reinstated the Dada Mail Demo You can play around with Dada Mail, without having to install it yourself at:

http://dadademo
orty
com/cgi-bin/dada/mail
cgi

The Dada Mail Demo is graciously being hosting by Jake Ortman at http://orty com - a longtime supporter of Dada Mail - thanks, Jake!

Currently, version 2 10 10 has been installed as the demo, as its the current stable version of the program

That's about it - a whole lot of new things regarding Dada Mail and a whole lot to be excited about Check out the new dev version, the new docs, the new demo and let us know what you think,

Cheers,

Justin Simoni Lead Dadaist http://mojo skazat com
