Restoring Dada Mail

How do I fix...

Restoring Dada Mail

Postby DennyP » Thu May 10, 2012 3:22 pm

I had to have my server system restored due to a root problem. I backed up the sql database before I replaced the master drive with a new system.

I attached my old master as a slave to copy back the cgi-bin/dada directory and the dada web directory.

I restored the database on the new system with no problems. I also copied the old cg-bin/dada directory to the new master. When I went to copy the dada web directory, I found that it was empty. Somewhere I must have accidentally deleted it.

So now it looks like I need to do a reinstall of dada. I think I still have the source download for the version that I had loaded. Once I do a reinstall can I just delete and restore the dada database from my backup? The main thing I need from my old database are the email addresses so if there is a way to just dump and restore a single table that would would too.

Suggestions? Thanks.

If you still have the database you were using in your last install of Dada Mail, just install Dada Mail again and plug in that database, when the installer asks about your database details. Do you also have you old .dada_files directory?

I thought I had my old directory but it's disappeared. I tried to reinstall and got 403 errors. I have a separate topic for that problem.

So this topic can be closed.
