Mailing list template and Email message template

It seems that when ever I change the "Mailing List Template" it affects the "Email Message Template". Is there a way you can make those independent of each other? I like to have the Mailing List Template match my website but the HTML e-mail I send out, I wish to have it look different than the web site as Outlook totally hashes the appearance.

Perhaps I missing something somewhere that allows the e-mailed HTML messages to be unique and independent of the Mailing List Template. If so, can someone please direct me in the right direction?

In, Appearance and Templates -> Your Mailing List Message, is there an checkbox labeled,

[ ] Wrap your HTML Mailing List Messages in your Mailing List Template

If so, uncheck that option, and save your changes.
