Postby dkaleky » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:41 pm

I manually upgraded from 4.9.1 to 5.1.1

1. I used my old .dada_files, and it seems fine

2. http://......./cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi?f=view_archive error:

Program Error (Server Error 500)

More information about this error may be available in the server error log and/or program error log.

Can't locate object method "new" via package "HTML::Scrubber" at /DADA/MailingList/Archives.pm line 696.

3. Plugin clickthru tracking is missing from admin screen , I put clickthrough_tracking.cgi in plugins

The clickthrough_tracking.cgi isn't shipped with Dada Mail anymore, superceded by the tracker.cgi plugin. That does get installed, if you do let the installer do the install/upgrade.

Not sure, but you may just need to disable the following feature, in the list control panel under,

Message Archives -> Advanced Archive Options

Disable Embedded JavaScript in Archived Messages

Dear Justin,

I noticed same errords on my client's site and unchecked this option: Disable Embedded JavaScript in Archived Messages

It started to work. Do you know the root cause to this issue? On one hand, it is mentioned that checking this feature is "Strongly recommended for security reasons" and on the other hand, unchecking this solves this problem.

Let me know. I am quite worried about these errors now and my client is getting frustrated. We have a list of about 150 subscribers as of now and I want the site to work seamlessly. Let me know if I can support you in keeping this software functioning fine.

Regards, Ashish

I just noticed the issue had only fixed momentarily. The errors reappeared:

Program Error (Server Error 500)

More information about this error may be available in the server error log and/or program error log.

Pro Dada 5.0.3 Error - Cannot open list lock file /home/content/76/9287976/.dada_files/.tmp/_CAPTCHAdb.lock - No space left on device at /home/content/76/9287976/html/cgi/dada/mail.cgi line 9786

Any advice?

Possible you need to install the HTML::Scrubber CPAN module, as it doesn't come with Dada Mail.

Well, I'm reading a different error,

Code: Select all
Pro Dada 5.0.3 Error - Cannot open list lock file /home/content/76/9287976/.dada_files/.tmp/_CAPTCHAdb.lock - No space left on device at /home/content/76/9287976/html/cgi/dada/mail.cgi line 9786

No space left on device

Points to you out of disk space?

Thanks Justin...I noticed that error and contacted godaddy support. They have escalated the issue to 2nd level support. They are not sure whether this is a host issue or a software problem. Other pages in the site are working fine except this error is generated on member sign in.

Well, I mean, if you take some files off your account - say a meg or two, does it then work? Maybe see if Dada Mail is creating any tmp files that can be removed - or the errors.txt file.

Running out of disk space shouldn't have a perplexing solution - free some up!

Thanks Justin....the page has started working. Not sure if the support fixed it but they got back to me with this information:
"
I have reviewed your account and determined the issue you have been experiencing is due to insufficient file permissions. CGI files require execute permissions to be able to function properly. I placed a test file in your account with 604 UNIX permissions (rw----r--) and received a 500 Internal Server Error matching the error you are receiving. I updated the file permissions with a 505 UNIX permissions (r-x---r-x) and the file executed properly.

The 505 permissions represent the minimum permissions necessary for your files to execute properly. We recommend that you review the support documentation for dada mail to determine the correct file permissions necessary for this application to function correctly."

Do you think this is what is actually happening? I didn't set any permissions myself. I let the dada installer do the settings. Let me know if I need to change something but as I said the page is working right now.

Thanks, Ashish

I can't see all what you're seeing, but the error logs say one thing, and I can interpret them. I'm interpreting them different than your support guys, but I wouldn't be in disbelief if they don't know what they're talking about. I know the program and I've seen your problem a million times.

If it's working, it's working.
