SMTP: can't call method 'auth'

Postby burk21 » Sat Jul 24, 2010 7:29 am

Hi, I changed my web host in order to be able to send via smtp. But it didn't work. Here are the results.

[Sat Jul 24 07:37:17 2010] mail.cgi: Problems with connecting to the SMTP Server: Connection refused at /DADA/App/Messages.pm line 169
[Sat Jul 24 07:37:17 2010] mail.cgi: Debug => 1
[Sat Jul 24 07:37:17 2010] mail.cgi: Hello => x.com
[Sat Jul 24 07:37:17 2010] mail.cgi: Port => 587
[Sat Jul 24 07:37:17 2010] mail.cgi: Timeout => 60
[Sat Jul 24 07:37:17 2010] mail.cgi: Host => mail.smtphosting.tk
[Sat Jul 24 07:37:17 2010] mail.cgi: at /DADA/App/Messages.pm line 169
[Sat Jul 24 07:37:17 2010] mail.cgi: Problems sending via SMTP: Can't call method "auth" on an undefined value at /DADA/Mail/Send.pm line 470.
[Sat Jul 24 07:37:17 2010] mail.cgi: at /DADA/App/Messages.pm line 169

By the way Hello x.com domain name is wrong after I migrated my installation and can not find where this data is located. I already changed the program url. Can this be the source of the problem. If not what is it then? Any idea?

Have you double checked that the SMTP authentication you're using is correct?

I will try to access smtp, via mass mailing applications, with the same settings. And then provide you the necessary input. Thanks Justin.

Yes it worked with the mac bulkmailer. The authentication settings are correct.
