I notice that the privacy policy input does not accept HTML,

So, no change from past versions, right? :) Same with the list description, etc

Right I never used the privacy policy this way in the past, because each of my lists was associated with different website and those privacy policies were different I couldn’t split the privacy policies out per list on the old versions of Dada, so I just put a basic “we don’t sell or share your email address” in the Dada policy field and placed a link to my real privacy policy in the footer info of my mailing template As a result I never needed HTML in my Dada privacy policy

but most privacy policies include links to things like a cookie policy and possibly the privacy policies and/or opt-out links for companies that process data Additionally, longer policies benefit from the styling that can emphasize headings and important sections Would it be difficult to make the privacy policy handle HTML?

I guess this is a feature request/TODO

Problem is, the privacy policy (and list description) could be shown in plaintext, and plaintext with HTML tags all over the place probably would also be a bad thing People are also terrible writing well-structured HTML and they do silly things with it I'm not looking forward to fielding support requests of people ruining their layouts, because of forgetting to close a tag in their privacy policy! :)

I can totally see that

Most likely a way to have both contexts work is to allow the use of something like Markdown formatting

https://en wikipedia org/wiki/Markdown#Example

That way, all that copy already written in PlainText won't potentially break when we allow more sophisticated formatting

That seems like a reasonable compromise that should prevent the coding issues but still allow the links and display format Should I put it in Github as a feature request?

Warm regards,

Mary Ann
