Re: styling of variables inserted by Dada

If you use Google Chrome as your web browser (and possibly some others, but I don't know offhand), you can easily eliminated the copy-paste formatting problem by using Ctrl-Shift-V to "Paste Text Only" instead of the regular Ctrl-V, as a workaround (it's Command-Shift-Option-V on Mac).

Looks like I can recreate this problem, pretty easily, but just copying the tag I want to use, (in your case: <!-- tmpl_var subscriber.first_name --> ), from the listing in the, "Subscriber Fields" tab and pasting it into the WYSIWYG editor.

That's because the tag listed in that tab is already formatted, with <code></code> tags, which the editor will happily copy, along with the text. Ugh.

A lame workaround, if you're using CKeditor, is to use the, "Paste as PlainText" button, which is located on the third row, fourth button to the left - it goes:

[Cut] | [Copy] | [Paste] | [Paste as PlainText]

To make things easier, I can at least change the stylings, in the template tags listed in the, Subscriber Fields tab. It would be nice to have these tags simply available in the text editor - and the ability to do just that, is supported in the various editors,

        * CKeditor

        http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1957156/ckeditor-how-to-add-a-custom-button-to-the-toolbar-that-calls-a-javascript-func

Tiny MCE allows this to, but it's a different process. It may behoove me to upgrade to the latest version of CKeditor, ditch FCKeditor (finally) and whip this up. If anyone has any experience with this sort of JavaScript and wants a little side project, it'd be a nice one to have! ;)

Hopefully you can see the example below - I'm using arial but it's coming through with a different font. It makes the name stand out as clearly an item fed from a merged file, which doesn't make the email seem very personal.  Is there a way I can change that?
