Howdy all - new update!

I've gotten mass email messages working with the new Foundation for Emails based templates, so that's really cool There was a TON of work to make this happen behind the scenes to get the whole workflow in-code somewhat sane But that's a huge hurtle, and I don't foresee too many things in this project being THAT large Other niceties:

  • the Send a Webpage screen now supports attachments!
  • the Send a Message screen now supports embedded images!
  • Both support embedding images that are in your mailing list template, not just in your message! (Whoa!)

In fact, both these screens work almost the same way now internally - the UI for the Send a Webpage is just a little more complicated in comparison to Send a Message The big win on this is also that the codebase probably isn't any larger, in fact: it's most likely smaller, meaning complexity in the app doesn't really go up

  • Previews!

Since the mailing list template used are now so much more involved: there's more information in it, and there's an actual layout to it, the content that you then add into the template is going to look different, once that final mass email is produced I'd also like to introduce the ability to have a choice of layouts you can pick for your mass email (as well as a choice of themes which all have different layouts to choose from!), so being able to try each one on is important,

So, instead of having to constantly send yourself tests via email, you can first just preview it in your browser, and make final tweaks that way

This was another feature that took awhile to make happen, as the codebase had to be restructured, to separate creating the parts of the message, and creating (encoding, basically) the message as a email, ready to be sent

So, fun, powerful and useful things in store for the next major upgrade to Dada Mail! But, the devil is in the details Would people be open to the idea of backing a Kickstarter campaign to help fund my development time to really, truly, see this to completion as a rock-solid release? Any ideas for reward ideas? I have limited ideas myself: Pro Dada subscription deals and uh, t-shirts Something else I can entice y'all with? Additional email templates for backers?!
