Issues with 9.0.2

Before the holidays, I upgraded to 9.0.2, but ran into a Perl error. The question about the problem was "In the v8 install, did you have to change the shebang line (the first line of the mail.cgi script), to your alt. install of Perl?" Yep, that was the fix -- I changed the line to point to the MacPorts install of Perl at #!/opt/local/bin/perl That fixed that problem and I was able to log in.

There were some problems, though. I think I have a style conflict somewhere, since the top nav bar had almost unreadable blue text on the red background. There was also still the left nav bar in place.

When I tried to use the "Send a web page" feature for a list I used to send plain text email (thanks for that change), the only tab I could select was the "Plain Text Version" -- I couldn't get a response from the "HTML Version" or "Options" tab. When I sent a test message, it picked up the content left from 8.4.0 in the HTML section and not the plain text from the web page.

To get back to a known state, I tried to do a reinstall from scratch (production folder has a different name from "dada" so easy enough to do). The zip file uncompressed and the install program fired up (I paused to change the Perl reference, which made the right database module available to use MySQL). I clicked "Upgrade" and went through those steps, verifying what was found in the existing config file. But at the end, I was prompted to "install" the program, which then had an issue with finding an existing config file. I remember that this was discussed on the old support board, but don't have that solution at hand now. If I can get around this, then I can get on with testing a clean install.
