The big story is the move to the CGI::Application framework, which was actually a ton of work, once started, even though initiating the move was relatively straightforward - just ugh! all the little details to get down perfect Knew that one was coming

What moving to this framework gives the app is the ability to run pretty well under a persistent environment and in Perl that means either FastCGI (old school) or PSGI/Plack (new school) If you're familiar with Rack for Ruby or WSGI for Python, it's very similar

Running under CGI is still 100% a supported and worthwhile way to run Dada Mail ('cause it's EASY! and SIMPLE!), but if just running Dada Mail is causing your server to implode, you would want to move over to a better deployment option and hurray!: that's now available to you, without jumping through flaming hoops Really: if I can do it without really understanding PSGI/Plack on my Macbook, you can too

Some more background on running under PSGI/Plack:

If you're running under PSGI, use the command line interface to install:

The other nice thing is setting up the cronjobs for Dada Mail is a lot simpler - there's only one, no matter how many plugins you install or features you need Just get that one dialed in, and you're golden I have a doc on that, too:

pod
html

There aren't too many new features in Dada Mail other than the turbo boost of the new framework, so don't look too hard But, the new Schedules stuff didn't work and now does, the new digest feature didn't work and now does, and Bridge is installed by default - if you are having me install Dada Mail for you, it's no extra charge anymore

Here's my commercial offerings, if you're looking to support the project - I certainly enjoy eating and riding bikes ;)
